Dear Family and Friends

Jackson Joseph Robinson was born on June 21st, 2007 around 7:30pm (the time is questionable, if you haven't heard, read on...)I'm not much of a blogger, but thought this might be a good way to keep everyone informed from day to day on his health and to share photos easily. I also want to reiterate how much we appreciate all the help, prayers, and phone calls we have received over the past couple of months....there's no way to express how it has touched us, I don't think I know how to put it in words at the moment...but again, many, many thanks.I'm a little late getting this started, as Little Jackson (LITTLE!!!) has kept us pretty busy, so I may forget some things. For the most part, this is his story....

"Think Where Man's Glory Most Begins And Ends, And Say My Glory Was I Had Such Friends" --William Butler Yeats

Jackson's sick still...:(

He has a bacteria in him, something that starts with an S...sorry, cant remember at this moment, but I'll get it on here soon for all the family nurses...:) (Its like "somba....something...maybe?) It's something to do with his lungs, or the mucus in his lungs...and they did another blood culture this morning to see if it's in his blood. If it is, then he's probably going to get really sick soon. Although, he IS already on antibiotics, so hopefully that will help. He's not really acting sick yet, so we'll see. It could take a few days before anything shows up.

There may also be a thyroid problem...seems something is out of whack on that, but they are basing this off of a lab result that came back from another OKC lab, and the doctor wanted Mercy's lab to run the test to see what they scored. Apparently they measure a little differently? Not sure. I'm not really sure of a lot, except he has an infection...we usually end up asking the person talking with us, "Give it to us on a scale of 1-10...how bad?" which I know the nurses and the doctors must hate because there are usually so many factors to take in! :) He'll also have this bacteria for the rest of his life...it stays in the body apparently. I asked if it could cause problems later, and the nurses said no...so we'll see.

He is tolerating his feedings well...he's up to 14cc's of breast milk every three hours...they seem to go up on that daily.

He looks really good, his skin has matured into regular looking baby skin, and he's really pink and is getting more and more blond hair everyday it seems. He opens his eyes a lot now, and they seem so big compared to everything else. Marc held him tonight...he looks so much smaller up next to a person than he looks in his bed. His weight is still about 2lbs 14 ozs, and he is 14 inches long now.

One of my bests friend's dad stopped by to see us, but we were not there at the time, but thank you for the note, Mr. Ray...I just cant believe how lucky I am to have such friends Even though I don't get to talk to them as much and some have left me for blue sky's and beaches (thank you Deirdre for the email, you're the best:) Christina and Vicki, you better not be leaving me anytime soon!

It weird how your relationships grow the older you get...I think the best is that most of them stay the same even though your life changes...like I saw a friend of mine at the hospital the other day, and it had been, like, 4 years since I had seen her, but it was like yesterday. I'm rambling, but I keep thinking about this verse from a song:

"Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography in lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young..."

It seems you guys are always taking care of me, I look to the day when I can "pay it forward" if you will, to all of you. Thank you, "My Precious Few"... for brightening our days, I love you guys.
