Ive kind of left Jackson's status hanging the past couple of days, it's been pretty hectic and it's usually late by the time I can write much...
So far nothing has shown up on the blood culture they took to test for the bacteria in his blood...so that's really good. Although they did repeat it this morning to make sure. He has now gone off of the Billie blanket he slept on and, off of the overhead Billie light...but he has been off and on that a few times, so I wouldn't be surprised if we show up and it's back, which mean he'd have to wear the "sunglasses" over his eyes again.
The nurse tonight commented that his thyroid levels still seemed low, but that the doctor hasn't ordered anything for it yet, so maybe it's not too low. He also gets another brain ultra sound tomorrow...and he's feeding are up to 17cc's every three hours now. They also are giving him something that starts with an "R" (I want to say Retlin, but I may just be thinking of Ritalin) for acid reflux... I think this is more of a precautionary measure though, I don't think he's had any issues with that. The bacteria that is in his ETT Tube doesn't start with an "s", btw, I'm an idiot speller. It's called pseudomonas. He is still receiving his breathing treatments every 3 hours for this too...they give him albuteryol (again with the spelling) to open his lungs fully, and then they give him Tobramycin for the infection. They also do some sort of massage thing with this little tiny baby back massager thing, which is suppose to loosen up the mucus in him.
AND, big news, Lil Jackson is now 3lbs 1ounce...so we're moving along slowly, but surely. I failed to mention on my last post that it was 4 weeks Thursday since his birth...it's seems so crazy how fast it's gone by! I was thinking tonight while I was holding him how, if everything goes well, he should be able to go home in September sometime. I'll try and post some new pictures this week too, his skin looks so much better now, more matured and very pink...like a new born piglet. :)
Keep you posted!
