Dear Family and Friends

Jackson Joseph Robinson was born on June 21st, 2007 around 7:30pm (the time is questionable, if you haven't heard, read on...)I'm not much of a blogger, but thought this might be a good way to keep everyone informed from day to day on his health and to share photos easily. I also want to reiterate how much we appreciate all the help, prayers, and phone calls we have received over the past couple of months....there's no way to express how it has touched us, I don't think I know how to put it in words at the moment...but again, many, many thanks.I'm a little late getting this started, as Little Jackson (LITTLE!!!) has kept us pretty busy, so I may forget some things. For the most part, this is his story....

Save The Drama For Yo' Mamma...

Well, so as I was probably WRITING my blog last night, Jackson was up in his little room in the NICU setting off alarms and keeping the nurses busy. I had JUST left him when I was writing everything last night and he had been doing so well, but he had a long rough night.

The doctor called us this morning to tell us he had been D-satting all night, meaning (again I THINK) that his oxygen levels kept dipping below where they should have been and they kept having to adjust things, and this morning he had gone from pretty much room air, 21%, to 50% oxygen. They think he probably has an infection.

They did a blood culture and sent it to the lab, but it could take up to 5 days for anything to grow. They did go ahead and start him on two different antibiotics. His temp had been up and his white blood cell count elevated. The nurse tonight said she thinks it might be from is picc line, so we'll see. He was doing better when we left him tonight, he was on 35% oxygen, and they hadn't had any issues with him so far. They all commented, though, on how busy they had been with him the night before! The sad thing to hear was how lethargic he has been, just really not much movement at all. He just isn't feeling good. :(

I can not believe how up and down all this has been...the nurses say the babies like to test them when things seem to be going to easy. I also think he just likes Marc and I to come RUSHING in...he's so dramatic already. :)

As I said in an earlier blog, each day is so important in the life of a preemie. You just can't get too comfortable with the way things are going, because it can change so fast!
